After two novels and a three or four hour limited-series screenplay, my rock-solid go-to 1951 Smith-Corona Silent lost the number nine key slug. A little bit of soldering (which I haven’t done in decades and wasn’t much good at to begin with) and I’m back in business. Thanks to my wife, Heidi, for lending the third hand to hold the pliers, keeping the key slug in place while I soldered!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
